Preservation and avoidance of sites is always a desirable goal, but it is not always possible. We have completed archaeological excavations to determine the significance of prehistoric sites, as well as to mitigate the adverse effects of projects that were unable to avoid significant cultural resources. Many of these projects involved the closure of high-traffic streets, were logistically complex, had stringent time constraints, or required coordination with multiple agencies.

From single-site testing projects of less than an acre to projects that required multiple crews working on data recovery on five sites simultaneously, LSD has provided our clients with on-time and on-budget completion, timely reports, and innovative archaeological research. LSD is fully equipped and staffed to conduct cultural resources testing and data recovery at all levels of effort. Our innovative research approaches have lead to notable advances in Arizona archaeology, and our well-planned and well-organized field efforts result in consistently met project schedules.
